There are many components that work together to ensure your Audi offers smooth Fremont drives. However, there's a common theme with many of those components and that's the fact that they utilize different types of fluid to keep everything lubricated and in working order. Over time as you drive around Santa Clara, the fluids in your Audi will begin to break down and eventually need to be replaced or serviced.

When you schedule a service appointment at our dealership, we'll be sure to keep an eye on these fluids and let you know if it's time for service. But, you can also check on these fluids on your own in certain Audi vehicles to let us know if it's time for a service. Learn how to check your Audi internal fluids today with Audi Fremont.

Things To Keep In Mind

Before you start checking the fluid in your Audi, there are certain things to keep in mind so that you don't run the risk of damaging your vehicle. In fact, we recommend that you even let our team check the fluids for you as some Audi vehicles won't let you inspect the fluid in your own Hayward garage.

We've got pickup and delivery services so you won't have to wait in our service center when your vehicle is being serviced. However, if your owner's manual indicates that you can check the fluids on your own, here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Hazardous: Nearly every vehicle fluid is hazardous or toxic so be sure you're wearing protective gear when inspecting your fluids and dispose of them at a toxic waste center near the Milpitas area for proper disposal.
  • Watch Your Paint: With many of these fluids, they can cause damage to your paint so be careful with where you're putting down your rags or dipsticks and if it happens to touch your paint, immediately clean it off.
  • Serviceability: Some Audi vehicles won't allow you to inspect certain fluids so it's best to reference your owner's manual and you can always have our team check the fluid for you.

Steps for Checking Your Audi Fluid

How To Check Your Oil

  1. Ensure your engine is up to optimal operating temperature.
  2. Turn your vehicle off and locate the oil dipstick.
  3. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it off, and re-insert it back into the tube.
  4. Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level.
  5. It should be in between the two marks, if it's too high or low, the oil level should be adjusted.

How To Check Your Power Steering Fluid

  1. Locate the power steering reservoir and remove the check.
  2. Using the dipstick, inspect the level.
  3. Take note of the color as well since good power steering fluid is typically a clear, amber, or pinkish color.

*Note that the steps for checking the power steering fluid in some Audi vehicles can vary. Certain models will require that the engine is running while others may suggest turning the steering left or right. We suggest you speak to our team if you're unsure about how to check your power steering fluid.

How To Check Your Brake Fluid

  1. Ensure the brake fluid reservoir top is clean as any dirt entering into the system could cause your brakes to run into issues.
  2. Open the top of the brake fluid reservoir.
  3. Inspect the brake fluid and add more if needed.
  4. Inspect the color of the brake fluid as it can become a dark color when it's time to be replaced.

*Brake fluid can easily break down so be careful as you're doing this.
