“What was supposed to be a summer job turned into my career!” Joe Nguyen, Service Manager for Audi Fremont
For the next installment of our Employee Spotlight Series, we are highlighting our Service Manager, Joe Nguyen. Read about his journey below!
Summer Job Turns Career
Joe grew up around cars. He shares, “The automotive industry is something I fell into, because it was my dad’s line of work.” In the summers, he split his time assisting with basic services and focusing on learning diagnostics – this is when his interest really began to grow. He realized, “I definitely had a hunger for learning how all the different parts work, individually and together.”
Journey to Fletcher Jones
With Joe now knowing his passion, he moved forward with working his way through the automotive service industry. He started on the service drive of another dealer, working his way up to technician and Service Advisor roles. Then, in December 2017, he accepted the role of Service Director for the opening of Audi Fremont –he has been with us since the beginning! Joe says, “I had been in the industry for 29 years. When I looked at our sister store, Fletcher Jones Motorcars of Fremont, I saw how long the Service Advisors had been with us. This shows how stable the environment is and a reflection of working for a family-owned business.”
Focusing on Team Growth
Joe’s inspiration for joining FJ Auto Group would serve as the foundation for Audi Fremont Service Center. He was determined to foster a Team environment where our Team has access to years of growth and ample opportunities. Did you know more than half of our technicians have been with us since our opening in 2017? Joe says, “I am here to support our team of technicians! My goal is to encourage continuous learning and expansion on their craft.” We offer fully paid healthcare for our technicians and their family, the ability to flag over 200+ hours and more!
He further emphasizes how Fletcher Jones Automotive Group cares deeply for their guests and their Teams – it is a family-oriented environment. He shares, “When I have a new Service Advisor join our Team, I spend as much time as possible with them, handing down the knowledge I have accumulated in my 29 years in the industry.” The biggest piece of advice Joe imparts is listening to our guests, being mindful of their time and open communication on the status of their vehicle. Outside of Audi Fremont
When Joe is not at work, he enjoys the outdoors and cooking! He shares, “I am into bread making lately. I have mastered the rustic bread, but the sourdough will be my next challenge!”
